


Maureen Fallis, founder of Surround Circle Yoga, established her business with an intention to create a community of individuals who would share her love of yoga and appreciate the serenity of a beautiful place to practice.
The journey of making Surround Circle Yoga a reality says a lot about Maureen. These are her words, “Living and working as a Senior Account Manager for a Specialty Pharmaceutical company for over eighteen years gave me the confidence and skills to consider creating my own company. I guess it was my strong desire to explore ‘what’s next’ that gave me the courage to build my dream.”
A thousand years, as the expression goes, Maureen developed a passion for running. And as all runners know, running can cause hamstrings to tighten, knees to seize, and hips to lock. It was her discovery of yoga that not only brought balance, greater flexibility and strength in her upper body, but a place of peace within her soul. Having completed Christine Felstead’s Yoga for Runners™ Teacher Training, Maureen brings her experience and training together to her own unique program called Run Yoga Run.
After fifteen years of sampling numerous yoga genres, it was the Kripalu style of yoga that felt like ‘home’ to Maureen. Kripalu yoga speaks directly to the heart, and then flows out to work within the body. Many other forms of yoga start with the body and then extend to the heart. This powerful twist is what makes Kripalu yoga unique. There is an immediate acceptance of individuality, and an inherent permission to move the body as guided from within. With this approach, truly great things can happen on the mat!
Certified as a Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Maureen emphasizes that learning happens best when we can relax and accept ourselves, whatever our level of flexibility, whatever our state of mind. Only then are we ready to explore, celebrating each step of the path toward greater health and wholeness as a journey of self-discovery.
Maureen demonstrates her personal experience and expertise in facilitation of small groups: customizing classes, workshops and retreats for people who are stressed, fatigued or simply suffering from what is keeping them from attaining their goals and living their lives pain free.
